Steve Lewis Coming into Perfect Championship Form with an Outdoor PB of 5.72m

Steve Lewis took the late decision to compete in Bochum, Germany on Sunday 2nd August and showed his season was peaking at the perfect time in advance of the World Championships in Berlin when he jumped an outdoor personal best of 5.72m to win the competition.

“Competing in Bochum was a last minute decision, slotting another competiton in before heading to the UKA holding camp in Portugal, and it turned out to the be the best and most competitive competition of the year. It felt really good and things are really coming together.”

Lewis, who is competing again on Saturday 8th in Cotbus in Germany – is following a similar format in terms of competition in the run up to the Worlds as he did for the European Indoors – where he was highly competitive and placed 4th.
