Over the past two years Jeanette has emerged as one of Britain’s brightest young female sprint talents following on from a promising rise through the junior ranks.
In 2007 at the European Indoors in Birmingham, she impressively won her semi-final in 7.17 seconds - this was the equal second fastest in the UK ever, and then narrowly missed out on a bronze medal in a photo finish decision in the final.
She made up for it a year later when she won silver at the World Indoors, breaking a 22 year old British record in the process. She took her excellent form into the summer of 2008 and became the first British woman to reach an Olympic 100m final for 24 years - she placed 6th in Beijing.
