A former heptathlete who trained under the guidance of Toni Minichiello (Jess Ennis’ coach), Katy was recommended to the British Cycling sprint coaches after her interval training numbers on the Wattbike caught Toni’s eye.

A successful six-week trial period with the sprint squad led to Katy being officially accepted onto the Olympic Academy Programme in April 2013, and promoted onto the Podium Programme in October of the same year.

Katy made her debut World Championship appearance in 2015 where she represented Great Britain in the 500m Time Trial. Katy posted a PB in the event to finish 13th overall.

Katy was crowned as the Under-23 European Keirin champion at the Under-23 European Track Championships in Athens and backed this up with a silver medal in the team sprint with Vicky Williamson.

Katy won her first world cup medal in Hong Kong in January 2016, where she won the silver medal in the team sprint with Jess Varnish.
